Replacement part crossover list for Volvo Penta 3.0 and OMC 3.0 marine engines.
I am writing this blog because I am tired of paying Boat Store prices for engine parts for my Penta 3.0l engines. As most of you know the engines were made by chevy and have mostly interchangeable parts. The following is a list of parts I have found at my local auto parts store that fit and work just fine for my boat. P.S. If you have any crossover part numbers let me know I will post them here!
Thermostat 160 degrees Volvo Penta part# 3853799 Crossover to Sierra pt#183558 Found on Amazon for 18.12 will free prime shipping Or at West Marine for 15.49 will free home shipping, but you have to ask for it by calling and asking for free shipping. They wont always give it to you but ask anyway. Others found: Boaters Island for 11.99 plus shipping Ebay for 12.19 plus 8.95 shipping (not worth it!) I bought mine at West Marine best price with no shipping.
As I stated in my last post, Change your Impellers! a $30 part cost me much more. Being cheap I only changed mine when I needed to. Not a good Idea. I will change them every year without fail. Overheated, cracked the exhaust manifold, blew the head gasket. Here are the replacement parts at some great prices.
